1408 is a psychological horror film directed by Mikael Håfström, based on a short story by Stephen King. The film follows Mike Enslin (John Cusack), a skeptical author who debunks supernatural phenomena. Despite warnings, he checks into room 1408 at the Dolphin Hotel in New York City, notorious for its deadly history. Once inside, Mike experiences terrifying and surreal events that challenge his disbelief in the paranormal. The room manipulates his reality, forcing him to confront his deepest fears and past traumas. As the horrors escalate, Mike struggles to maintain his sanity and find a way to escape the malevolent force that resides in room 1408.
