*Ratatouille* is an American computer-animated comedy-drama film released in 2007 by Pixar Animation Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. This eighth Pixar film was directed and written by Brad Bird, who took over the role in 2005, replacing Jan Pinkava. Production was led by Brad Lewis, based on an original idea by Pinkava.

The film’s title refers to the famous French dish ratatouille, which appears at the end of the film, and also to the main character, a rat.
