Status Quo – Burning Bridges

Released in November 1988, “Burning Bridges (On and Off and On Again)” is a lively rock track by the British band Status Quo, featured on their album Ain’t Complaining.
The song, written by band members Francis Rossi and Andy Bown, draws inspiration from the traditional English folk tune “Darby Kelly,” infusing it with Status Quo’s signature boogie rock style.
Upon its release, “Burning Bridges” achieved commercial success, reaching number five on the UK Singles Chart. Its upbeat rhythm and catchy chorus have made it a fan favorite and a staple in the band’s live performances.
Notably, in 1994, the song was adapted by Manchester United F.C. into “Come On You Reds,” which topped the UK Singles Chart in May of that year.
