Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008) is a science fiction adventure film directed by Eric Brevig. It is a modern adaptation of Jules Verne’s classic 1864 novel of the same name. The film was produced in 3D and is notable for its use of digital effects and adventure-driven plot.
The film follows Trevor Anderson (Brendan Fraser), a volcanologist, and his teenage nephew Sean (Josh Hutcherson), who are on a scientific expedition to Iceland. 
They are joined by their guide, Hannah Γsgeirsson (Anita Briem). The trio discovers a hidden world beneath the Earth’s surface, full of prehistoric creatures and strange landscapes.
