Zootopia (2016)
Zootopia takes place in the bustling, diverse metropolis of Zootopia, where animals of all species—predators and prey—live together in a society that mirrors the human world. The story follows Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin), a determined and optimistic rabbit from a small farming town, who becomes the first bunny police officer in the city’s history. Despite her ambition, Judy faces discrimination and doubt from her colleagues, who assign her to low-stakes parking duty.
Determined to prove herself, Judy takes on a high-profile case involving the mysterious disappearance of several predator citizens. She reluctantly teams up with Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman), a sly and cynical fox who works as a con artist. Together, the unlikely duo uncovers a conspiracy that threatens to destroy the harmony between predators and prey in Zootopia.
As Judy and Nick dig deeper into the mystery, they navigate Zootopia’s richly imagined districts, from the snowy Tundratown to the bustling Sahara Square. Along the way, they encounter a cast of quirky and memorable characters, including the gruff Chief Bogo (Idris Elba), the shady Duke Weaselton (Alan Tudyk), and the iconic pop star Gazelle (Shakira), whose message of unity inspires the city.
The film explores themes of prejudice, stereotypes, and inclusion, delivering a powerful message about overcoming societal divisions while maintaining a sense of humor and charm. Judy and Nick’s partnership evolves into a strong friendship as they learn to challenge their own biases and work together to bring the truth to light.
