The Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailer, set for May 2026, promises an epic new adventure in the Marvel universe, bringing together iconic heroes in a decisive battle against a threat that could change the fate of the multiverse.

The trailer begins with a dark atmosphere, featuring scenes of destruction and chaos as a new evil force rises. The cinematography is magnificent, capturing the magnitude of the crisis the Avengers will face, while an intense soundtrack sets a climate of urgency and tension.

The name was changed from Avengers: The Kang Dynasty to Avengers: Doomsday. The change was announced at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday 27th July 2024, the same day that Robert Downey Jr. was announced to be returning to the MCU, in a new role as Victor Von Doom/Dr. Doom.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantuamnia (2023) writer Jeff Loveness was initially hired to write the screenplay for the film in 2023. However after the Ant-Man sequel underperformed at the box-office, Loveness was replaced with Michael Waldron. Waldron was previously set to write Avengers: Secret Wars (2027) as well. In San Diego Comic-Con 2024, however, Stephen McFeely was announced as the new screenwriter for Avengers: Doomsday. McFeely previously co-wrote the Captain America films and Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019) in the Infinity Saga.
