Barney reunites the Expendables team, with familiar faces like Lee Christmas (Jason Statham) and Gunner Jensen (Dolph Lundgren), as well as new members like a mysterious Asian warrior played by Jackie Chan and a ruthless federal agent played by Dwayne Johnson.

Since this is a true finale to the franchise it will be split into two parts and several legacy characters including new characters get killed in the movie.

Part 1 features the legacy characters and some new characters and treated like an Expendable sequel movie with returning characters, in Part 2 it is like a soft-reboot with several new characters but also a ode to farwell as it’s a love-letter to the action genre with several big stars. Part 2 does not however leave any open-ends to another sequel as nearly everyone gets killed in this movie but there is a chance for a spin-off with certain characters.
