Plot Summary
In the year 2045, the world is in disarray, and most people spend their time in the OASIS, a sprawling virtual universe created by the late James Halliday. When Halliday dies, he leaves behind a series of puzzles and challenges within the OASIS, promising his vast fortune and control of the OASIS to whoever can find an Easter egg hidden inside. Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan), a teenager known as Parzival in the OASIS, embarks on this quest, teaming up with friends Art3mis (Olivia Cooke), Aech (Lena Waithe), and Shoto (Philip Zhao) to compete against the nefarious corporation IOI, led by the villainous Nolan Sorrento (Ben Mendelsohn).
