The story revolves around two European mercenary warriors (Damon and Pascal), who were captured by imperial Chinese forces inside the Great Wall of China after arriving in search of gunpowder.
Eventually, they join forces with the Chinese to help fight an alien threat. Matt Damon, Jing Tian, Pedro Pascal, Willem Dafoe, and Andy Lau star in this American and Chinese co-production.
Since they were unable to film on the genuine Great Wall, three walls were constructed during the filming.Critics gave the movie mixed to poor reviews; it made $334.9 million globally and was deemed a box office flop after losing up to $75 million.
