ABBA: Global Pop Icons from Sweden

ABBA is a world-renowned pop band from Sweden, formed in 1972 and becoming a global phenomenon throughout the 1970s. The name ABBA is an acronym of its four members: Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad (Frida).
They are famous for their catchy, memorable pop melodies, distinctive vocal harmonies, and vibrant performances. ABBA won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 with the song “Waterloo,” paving the way for their immense worldwide success. A string of global hits like “Dancing Queen,” “Mamma Mia,” and “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!” propelled them to the top of charts worldwide, making them one of the best-selling artists of all time.
Although they went on hiatus in the early 1980s, ABBA’s music continued to live on through the “Mamma Mia!” musical and its film adaptations. In 2021, after nearly 40 years, ABBA surprised fans by reuniting and releasing a new album titled “Voyage,” proving their enduring appeal and lasting musical legacy.
