Paradox Effect (2023)

The murderer, Silvio (Harvey Keitel), is a ruthless criminal, and Karina quickly realizes that her safety, as well as the safety of her young daughter, Lucy (Alice Astons), is in jeopardy. To protect her daughter and avoid the wrath of Silvio and his associates, Karina is forced to cooperate with him. Her attempts to escape or find help are complicated by the fact that she is now a part of a deadly game between powerful forces—law enforcement, criminals, and dangerous underworld figures all on her tail.
As the clock ticks down and tension mounts, Karina must navigate through a labyrinth of perilous choices. She is torn between trying to protect her daughter and facing the ghosts of her past, which include reconciling with her own moral compass. In this life-or-death race, every decision counts, and the lines between right and wrong blur. As Silvio’s grip tightens, Karina must decide how far she is willing to go for the sake of Lucy and whether she can outsmart those who seek to destroy her.
The film explores themes of redemption, guilt, and the lengths a mother will go to for her child. Karina’s internal struggle is at the heart of the narrative, creating a poignant contrast between her desire to make things right and the harsh reality she faces. Throughout the film, the fast-paced action sequences are balanced with deep emotional undertones as Karina’s journey unfolds.
