Alita: Battle Angel 2 (2025)
Alita: Battle Angel (2019), directed by Robert Rodriguez and produced by James Cameron, is a cyberpunk science fiction film adapted from the Gunnm manga series by Yukito Kishiro. The film focuses on Alita, a cyborg with a mysterious past, who is discovered in a scrapyard and rebuilt by Dr. Ido. Alita’s journey to uncover her identity and face the corrupt forces in the floating city of Zalem forms the central arc of the movie.
The Motorball Tournament: In the first movie, Motorball—a deadly gladiator-like sport—is introduced, and Alita is shown to have remarkable skills. The sequel might delve further into the brutal sport and explore Alita’s participation in it as a way to gain access to Zalem.
Chiren and Nova: Alita’s enemies, like Dr. Chiren (Dr. Ido’s ex-wife) and Nova (the mysterious villain), will likely play larger roles. Nova, in particular, has a major presence in the story as a key antagonist who controls much of the conflict in Iron City and Zalem.
