Zack Snyder’s Justice League
Zack Snyder’s Justice League
Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021) is the definitive version of the 2017 film Justice League, directed by Zack Snyder. This four-hour epic, often referred to as the “Snyder Cut,” was released on HBO Max following years of fan campaigning, a turbulent production process, and a demand for the version of the film that Snyder originally intended before his departure from the project due to personal reasons.
The release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League was highly anticipated by fans who felt that the 2017 theatrical version, directed by Joss Whedon after Snyder’s exit, was a significant departure from the darker, more serious tone Snyder had established in his previous DCEU films, Man of Steel (2013) and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016).
Plot Overview
The movie follows Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) and Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) as they attempt to unite a team of superheroes to face a looming threat. After the death of Superman (Henry Cavill), a powerful alien force named Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds) seeks to collect three ancient Mother Boxes, which have the power to reshape the universe. In an attempt to stop him, Batman and Wonder Woman recruit the Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher). However, the team realizes they will need to resurrect Superman to stand a chance against Steppenwolf and his army.
