🎬Children of the Corn (1984)

Children of the Corn (1984) is a supernatural horror film directed by Fritz Kiersch, based on a short story by the master of horror, Stephen King. The film adapts King’s chilling tale of a small rural town where a group of children, under the influence of a mysterious and malevolent entity, carry out a series of horrifying rituals. Combining elements of psychological terror, supernatural horror, and a critique of blind faith, Children of the Corn offers a dark and eerie exploration of the dangers of religious fanaticism and the loss of innocence.
Set in the small farming town of Gatlin, Nebraska, the film tells the story of a young couple, Burt (Peter Horton) and Vicky (Linda Hamilton), who find themselves stranded in the town after a car accident. Upon their arrival, they realize that all of the adults in the town have mysteriously disappeared. The town is dominated by a cult-like group of children, led by the enigmatic Isaac (John Franklin), who worship a god-like figure referred to as “He Who Walks Behind the Rows.” The children believe that the adults are sinful and must be sacrificed to appease this dark force. As Burt and Vicky try to escape, they become entangled in the children’s horrifying rituals, as the cultists see them as outsiders who must be eliminated.
