Olaf’s Frozen Adventure (2017)
Olaf’s Frozen Adventure (2017) is a holiday-themed animated short film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. Set in the world of Frozen, it stars Olaf, the lovable snowman voiced by Josh Gad, as he embarks on a mission to find the perfect holiday traditions for his friends Anna and Elsa. The story takes place after the events of the first Frozen movie, with Arendelle preparing for its first Christmas celebration since Elsa’s return.
As the townspeople gather to celebrate, Anna and Elsa realize they don’t have any family traditions of their own, having been separated for most of their lives. Determined to help, Olaf sets out with Sven the reindeer, traveling around the kingdom to learn about different holiday customs and bring back ideas. Along the way, Olaf encounters both humorous and heartwarming situations, discovering the importance of family and togetherness.
The short includes four new songs, composed by Elyssa Samsel and Kate Anderson, that capture the festive spirit of the season. Released as a 22-minute featurette, it was initially shown in theaters before Coco but later aired on television as a standalone special. While the short received mixed reviews due to its unusual length for a theatrical short, fans of Frozen enjoyed the chance to revisit the beloved characters and experience a lighthearted holiday story.
